Medicare Shoppers' Portal Redesign
The Project
To help users shopping for Medicare plans online choose the right plan that meets their needs. Anthem wanted their Medicare shoppers to have a more guided experience when choosing a new plan online.
The Strategy
Redesign the Medicare shoppers' path to provide a more interactive experience for users. The UX team designed a Medicare health assessment, to discover users' needs and priorities and provide personalized plan recommendations. The assessment was 8 screens, each displaying one question and large, clear optional answers. It was important to keep the design and the content clear, simple and large enough for Medicare-eligible people to read and respond to easily.
Based on the answers, Anthem provides the top 3 recommended Medicare plans. Once they've selected a plan, they can start the enrollment process.
Also added a progress bar across the top of the screens to help users track where they are in the shopping process.
Results
More Medicare clients are enrolling online than before, because they're getting a more interactive experience, resulting in a customized recommendation based on their personal needs.
